NEW: Jenni Idea Management Version 4.0
In March 2008, we completed and delivered to all our clients a major upgrade of Jenni idea management software service which included a host of new features. Many of them were suggested by our clients and a few were devised by our own innovation team. We also tweaked the underlying code to improve performance, scalability and security. The result, we believe, is simply the best, most flexible and easiest to use idea management solution available today (well, we would think that, wouldn't we?).
If you are not familiar with our Ideas Campaign approach to idea management, you may wish to read this first. An understanding of ideas campaigns will make it easier to appreciate many of the new features.
New Features in Jenni Idea Management 4.0
For Idea Managers
(ie. people authorised to run ideas campaigns in Jenni)
Easy Branding allows you to rebrand Jenni in the name of your own innovation program. For example, if your initiative is called "IdeasVille", we can rename your implementation of Jenni "IdeasVille", add your logo to "IdeasVille" and even incorporate your colours into IdeasVille - thus ensuring Jenni - sorry, we should say "IdeasVille" - better integrates into your organisation's innovation processes.
Your own Innovation Challenge Library provides you with dozens of standard innovation challenges that your idea managers (ie. those you empower to manage their own ideas campaigns) can use as the basis of new ideas campaigns. Challenges are divided into categories and cover the range from strategic innovation to incremental process improvements.
Your managers can now launch three different types of ideas campaigns depending on their requirements:
In a traditional ideas campaign, any participant may submit an idea in response to an innovation challenge. In addition, any participant may build upon an existing idea by adding a building block which appears just below the idea. Until now, the traditional ideas campaign was standard in Jenni.
In an IdeaWiki campaign, any participant may submit an idea in response to an innovation challenge as well as collaborate upon an existing idea. To do so, the participant clicks on a link which opens up the idea in a Wiki-like editing environment where she may edit the original idea by adding more material, editing existing text, adding images and/or adding documents. Once she saves the idea, it becomes a collaborative document in which she, the original idea submitter and any other collaborators are listed as the idea development team. The IdeaWiki campaign option makes Jenni the most openly collaborative idea management system on the market!
A Competition allows managers in your company to launch competitions for business plans, project concepts or any other type of proposal. The Manager sets up the competition title and rules. Individuals or teams use Jenni to submit proposal documents as well as summaries of their proposals. All submissions remain sealed until the competition's closing date, at which point the manager in charge may use Jenni's tools to evaluate the proposals in a transparent environment.
More rewards options in addition to Jenni's long-standing points scheme - which automatically awards points for ideas, collaboration, evaluation and other actions within the idea management system, Jenni now also allows idea managers to set up a customised rewards system with every ideas campaign. Special rewards motivate people to participate in your idea management activities and gives employee extra incentive to be innovative. Employees, meanwhile, can monitor their idea points and special rewards on their own MyInnovation pages.
- Idea Development Module facilitates the flow from ideas generated and evaluated in Jenni to innovative implementations that benefit your firm. Managers can assign experts to develop business cases, launch projects, prepare cash-flow forecasts or undertake any other action with ideas. Jenni uses a library of your existing idea development and project management file templates, thus making it easy to move ideas from Jenni to your preferred development tools. The Idea Development module complements Jenni's existing idea evaluation and SWOT analyses tools.
For all Users
Enhanced MyInnovation reporting provides each user with more detailed information about her performance in Jenni with statistics on number of ideas, collaborations, evaluations, rewards and more.
Optional Social Networking Module allows your employees to develop networks, tag colleagues with descriptive key words, find others by tags, write individual blogs and collaborate on team blogs. Social Networking provides many of the functions of popular networking sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn and MySpace, but with a focus on productivity and security and a lack of time-wasting games. Many improvements to Jenni's underlying coding ensure faster, more efficient performance.
