Dear Dr. Ecommerce:

What are the critical success factors for E Commerce?

Thanks,

Paddy

Dear Paddy:

There's only one: making a profit.

No matter whether you are talking about a pure-play Internet company (ie. selling only on the web) or a clicks-and-mortar shop (ie. selling on the web and via a real world outlet) any business needs to earn a profit to survive.

The e-commerce implementation on a clicks-and-mortar shop may aim to reduce costs or provide more value to customers. But, in the end, the aim is still earning or increasing profits for the company.

Good luck,

Dr. Ecommerce
