Dear Dr. Ecommerce:
I am attempting to find some statistics/information on the state of eCommerce
in Agriculture, specifically the grain and feed industries. Are there
any eMarketplaces up and running - if so - what are their web addresses.
Also any information relating to businesses willing to pursue and invest
in eBusiness opportunities would be helpful.
Any information you have would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Rod
Dear Rod:
I put your question to Jack Lee of Paradigm
RedShift Limited, who responds in detail:
"There are already a number of ebusiness sites working in the agricultural
market. Below are a sample of sites. As expected they are mainly operating
in the US market.
Funding can come from a variety of sources, and will depend on industry,
founders, business stage etc. A good starting point is www.paradigm-redshift.com/funding.htm.
[Dr. Ecommerce's note: in addition, the US government provides various
kinds of funding for agriculture related activities. Check the US
Department of Agriculture's web site to see if there is anything there
for you.]
