Dear Dr. Ecommerce

The Electronic Commerce Directive (2000/31) is due to be implemented by the Member States by 17th January 2002. Have any Member States yet brought it into force?

Thank you,

Krystyna

Dear Krystyna:

I nabbed E-policy News editor, Elina Kaartinen, in a Brussels corridor and asked her your question. She replies:

"Luxembourg is so far the only country that has successfully implemented the e-commerce directive. To find out the exact situation concerning other countries, e-mail:
MARKT-E4@cec.eu.int"

Good luck,

Dr. Ecommerce
