Dear Dr. Ecommerce

Can we sell our product in any country as it is, or do we need to change it for each market we sell in?

Lydia

Dear Lydia:

There are so many different kinds of products, from chewing gum to aeroplanes, that it's impossible to make any kind of generalisations.

That said, cultures are different and usually there is some need to modify products or at least their packaging, when selling in different countries. If nothing else, labelling usually needs to be in the local language.

Good luck
