Dear Dr. Ecommerce,

I am doing research on electronic commerce in the EU and have not been able to find a comprehensive list/short synopsis of each of the EU's directives on electronic commerce. Do you have such a list? Could you tell me how to find it?

Dear Ethan:

If you go to europa.eu.int/ISPO/ecommerce/legal/legal.html, you will find virtually all EU legislation related to e-commerce organised by theme.

I don't know of any one place you could go to get a synopsis of all Euro legislation. The bright sparks in internal market are good at synopsising their legislation, which includes most, but not all, of the EU directives on e-commerce. Go to their web page and click on the appropriate links.

Finally, you should look at the book, "Don't Panic, Do E-commerce, A Beginner's Guide to European Law Affecting E-commerce", which provides a good overview of EU legislation.
