16 Jan 2001, Belgium

Hello,

I just attended a talk by Mr. Salmelin on e-business. He said there should be some glossaries or terminology (with definitions of all the technical terms) in the area of e-commerce/e-business available somewhere on your web-site. I couldn't find it at first glance. Could you help me? It would be quite useful to translators like me.

Alex

Dear Alex:

I can't find it either! On our e-commerce web-site, we have a list of abbreviations, but not a glossary that I know about.

Mylène Hodzelmans of the Netherlands Foreign Trade Agency recommends the international glossary on terms that can be found on
e-comm.webopedia.com/. And, Dutch is one of your languages, she also suggests the de digitale ondernemer and www.syntens.nl/digikreten .

I find www.whatis.com to be good for technical terms. And sometimes I just plug a term into the Google search engine - this usually brings up several web sites related to the term in question, thus providing me not only with a definition, but also with a lot of related info. I expect this method would also be successful with other search engines.

Good luck,

Dr. Ecommerce
