Dear Dr. Ecommerce:

I' m preparing a thesis about "CREDIT CARDS IN INTERNET" and I would like to have information and documents on this subject. In particular I' m interested in the juridical and economical aspects. Where I can find useful information on the WWW? Do you have documents on (or related to) this subject? Please, if you have, can you send me those documents by mail or by my e-mail address. Waiting for your collaboration, I thank you very much.

Sincerely yours

Andrea

Dear Andrea:

If you are doing a thesis on credit card payment over the Internet, I expect you are aware of the Secure Electronic Transaction (SET) specification for credit card payments over the Internet. The SET standard web site at http://www.setco.org contains a lot of information about the SET standard.

For over 100 links to documents on electronic payment, including credit cards, go to a Bibliography on Electronic Payment at http://robotics.stanford.edu/users/ketchpel/ecash.html. That should keep you busy for a while.

To the best of my knowledge, European e-commerce related law has only lightly touched upon credit card payment. Take a look at the e-commerce directive at http://www.ispo.cec.be/ecommerce/legal/legal.html and the distance selling directive at http://www.ispo.cec.be/ecommerce/legal/distance.html. And the payments related legislation at http://www.ispo.cec.be/ecommerce/legal/payments.html.

If you are interested in US legislation on this issue, I suggest you ask my learned American associate, the E-Commerce Genie at http://www.law.washington.edu/lct/.

Good luck,

Dr. Ecommerce
