Dear Dr. Ecommerce:

Can you tell me where I can find information related to the taxation of e-commerce (for the area of EU)?

Thank you

Tasos

Dear Tasos:

It is important to understand that the EU has no intention of taxing e-commerce as such. The feeling is that the existing tax systems such as VAT are just fine. It is simply a matter of implementing them.

For more information on tax and e-commerce, try these sites:

Taxation and Customs Union Directorate General
http://europa.eu.int/comm/taxation_customs/index_en.htm

E-Revolution web site's taxation legislation page at
http://www.ispo.cec.be/ecommerce/legal/taxation.html

Electronic Commerce Legal Issues Platform (click on documents button and download relevant documents)
http://www.jura.uni-muenster.de/eclip/eclip_I.htm

All the best,

Dr.Ecommerce
