Dear Dr. Ecommerce

I am thinking about setting up a business selling food from the Abruzzesi region of Italy to expatriate Italians in Canada, USA, Europe and Australia. I am concerned about legal issues in these countries, in particular regarding the importation of food.

Any help you can give me will be much appreciated

Maurizio

[translated from Italian]

Dear Maurizio:

An interesting idea. Your main concern will be about importing food products into these countries as the US, Canada and Australia all, to my knowledge, have some restriction on food imports.

The best thing to do is to contact the Commercial office at the Embassies of each of the countries you are interested in. They can provide you with full information on import restrictions.

Good luck,

Dr. Ecommerce
