Dear Dr. Ecommerce,

An Italian firm has expressed interest in doing business with my American Internet firm., They want us to help them set-up shop, teach them about e-commerce, etc.

Before we do any business together, I want to educate myself on Italy in particular and what some of the implications of doing business, e-commerce, would be.

Where would be a good place for resources on the Italian
marketplace?

Thank you,

Al

Dear Al:

The following two web sites might give you some useful background information:

- Italian ICT Companies Association

- CommerceNet Italy
- Italy America Chamber of Commerce

In addition, you should contact the Italian Trade Institute or the local Industrial Association (for the area of the Italian firm). You should be able to get contact information from the commercial attaché at the Italian Embassy. The commercial attaché should also be able to provide you with general information about business in Italy.

Good luck,

Dr. Ecommerce
