Dear Doctor!

The company I am currently working for might have an -as you call it- innovative idea: personally I think it is a great idea. However, I don't think we will be able to enter the market with our new service/product before the end of this year. Besides that, we want to be able to develop this new service/product without everybody knowing about it, if you can understand what I mean.

What possibilities are existing to support our development? At this moment we are looking for venture capitalists, but if you could suggest other possibilities I would be very interested. I think a look at our website might give you a good impression of our company.

Kind regards,

Lex van Velzen

Dear Lex:

This is what our IST (Information Society Technology) Workprogramme is all about. We provide risk sharing funding for innovative ideas under the IST programme. Basically, you and at least one other European partner, from a different country, can propose a project under the "Workprogramme" and following the "Guidelines to Proposers". If the proposal is accepted you can receive funding (normally 50% in a research and technological development project), support and the benefits of our huge network of experts. Take a look at http://www.cordis.lu/ist/ for information on the IST Workprogramme as well as legal documentation on participating.

Good luck,

Dr. Ecommerce
