Dear Dr. Ecommerce,
I work for a company that provides an application for giving customer
support and service on the web. However much money there is to be made
from e-commerce, companies can tend to forget that without service there
is no commerce. Our company provides some of the most intuitive support
applications on the market and uses a web-based application to deliver
excellent customer support.
My question is this:- How could we use the forum of your web-site and
contacts to deliver our corporate message to the right people in the right
companies?
Regards,
TH
Dear TH:
Use OUR web site!?! Unfortunately, we cannot promote any organisation
or company on our web site. Nevertheless, there are a couple of things
you can do:
1. Participate in our E-commerce discussion list (visit http://www.ispo.cec.be/ecommerce/interaction/discussion.html
for information), which is less active than it should be these days.
By initiating discussion in your area of work, you can demonstrate your
expertise in customer support and service. I am sure it goes without
saying that you will not want to blatantly advertise your services,
rather you will want to demonstrate your knowhow in helpful postings.
2. Create a highly informative web site/section on your web site that
focuses on this area and then tell us about it. You will notice that
our web site has links to numerous other web sites and if yours is worth
linking to, we'll do precisely that.
3. Participate in "Best Practice" projects under the Information
Society Technologies (IST) Workprogramme - check out http://www.cordis.lu/ist/
for more information, in particular, look at the draft 1 October call
and the Workprogramme itself.
