Dr. Ecommerce:

I'm a recent graduate from Italy and I want to set up an on-line shop selling pasta and other Italian food internationally. Although I have the knowledge and some basic resources, I still need a lot of help; financial and otherwise.

Can you help?

Antonio

Dear Antonio:

Sure, I can. I love Italian food.

Seriously, an on-line shop, with the proper preparation and
marketing can be very successful indeed, and is the wave of
the future. But, an on-line shop in itself is no longer an
innovative concept. So, if you want to get money out of us,
you'll need to have a very innovative aspect to your venture.
Check out our Fifth Framework project (or here) for more
information about our project support.

You should also look atFinancing Innovation, on our CORDIS
web pages, for alternative methods of financial support.

Mailing lists can be a terrific method of getting help and
advice about electronic commerce. We have our own
e-commerce lists which focus on European issues in
electronic commerce. Two popular on-line marketing mailing
lists (which are in no way connected to or supported by the
European Commission) are Markethink and I-Sales. These
may give you ideas about how to market and sell your
products.
